The Daimler armored car incorporated some of the most advanced designs of its time, and became one of Britain's best armored fighting vehicles during World War II. It entered the front line in mid-1941; a total of 2,964 of this vehicle were made by Daimler. It had fully independent suspension and was four-wheel drive. The planetary gear transmission inside the axle allows for very low gear ratios in the lowest gear. Its reliability over rough terrain made it ideal for reconnaissance and escort missions. This sawn-off version is a regimental command vehicle type with the turret removed.
